Satellite Library Program Sponsored by Opportunity Tree

In 2015, Opportunity Tree of Boulder, CO partnered with us to initiate a small number of stationary mini-libraries that reside in the rural schools our Mobile Project visits each month. We initiated the project in two schools and we now have 14 satellite libraries that have standing book collections. The books are available for students and teachers to enhance their access to books in between monthly Mobile Project visits. Opportunity Tree generously offers us an annual grant to continue funding and refreshing the satellite libraries.

Lending libraries in the Community

The HJH Foundation has also placed small stationary book collections throughout the town to further enhance access to books. We have donated books to several community centers including Escuela Adelante, a local bilingual charter school, and Casa Materna, a maternity center.

These programs offer children consistent access to books and allow them to incorporate reading into their daily lives. We firmly believe that providing these small collections of books will help inspire lifelong readers and lift communities up.
